More

Scopolamine is an important precursor in pharmaceutical industry. The natural product is isolated from Duboisia plant in a complex way. In the remaining biomass the structurally related hyoscyamine is retained. Here we analyse and develop a biotechnological process to transform hyoscyamine to scopolamine to increase the yield by designing H6H for non-aqueous biocatalysis.
