Do Quynh successfully defended her thesis in July 2015 and received her doctorate degree from Bielefeld University.

With the tendency of industrial production towards reducing petrochemical dependence and focusing on green processes, we have engineered a C. glutamicum strain suitable for the production of putrescine, a bio-monomer used for the production of the polyamide Nylon-4,6. The aim of this project is to use different omics technologies combinated with genetics and biochemical approaches, to further metabolically engineer the existing strain to improve the production of putrescine as well as to optimize fermentation processes.
