Pascal studied at the University of Düsseldorf and received the Brenntag Award for the best exam in his field of business chemistry. During his studies, he spent one semester at the San Diego State University in California.

Since Mai 2013, Pascal is a fellow of the CLIB-GC.

Project overview

For the effective utilization of solar energy by DSSCs, the development of panchromatically absorbing dyes capable of photo-induced electron transfers is highly important. In this project a trichromophore with corresponding characteristics shall be synthesized via the Ugi-4CR. Consecutively, it will be linked to natural polyhydroxy hosts such as β-cyclodextrin or α-amylose and to triethoxysilyl-tagged amines by enzyme catalyzed transesterification or amidation for subsequent deposition on acceptor decorated surfaces.
