Welcome Pranay, Marina, Thomas and Fatma Alexia!

01 May 2010

Four new students have started their PhD thesis work at the beginning of May:

Pranay Kumar Ghosh will work on „Method development for model based process analysis in membrane chromatography” under the direction of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Wiechert and Prof. Dr. Martina Pohl. Also at HHU Duesseldorf, Marina Pavlidou will study the „Applications of nanodiscs in biotechnology“, supervised by Prof. Dr. Dieter Willbold and PD Dr. Bernd König.

Two students at TU Dortmund University will, together with Axel Prinz who started a month earlier, be part of a new CLIB-GC subgroup on aqueous two-phase systems. Thomas Reschcke (in the group of Prof. Dr. Gabriele Sadowski) with his project on „Modelling and design of aqueous two-phase systems“ will analyse the separation system itself, while Fatma Alexia van Winssen under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gerhard Schembecker will analyse the behaviour of proteins in such a system. Her project is entitled „Investigation of a novel aqueous two-phase extraction technology“.
