Eva was a fellow of the CLIB-Graduate Cluster from April 2009 until June 2012. She received her doctorate degree "summa cum laude" from Bielefeld University. After her PhD, Eva worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Münster, Institute of Hygiene as well as the the Institute of Bioinformatics and Systems Biology at the Helmholtz-Zentrum in Munich. She is now a scientist at the Robert-Koch Institute.

Project overview

Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, and Corynebacterium ulcerans together compose a distinct cluster of human and animal pathogens in the genus Corynebacterium. In this research project, the genomes of twenty clinical isolates from various parts of the world were completely sequenced with the next-generation platforms GS FLX or SOLiD. Subsequent annotation of the genome sequences provided comprehensive data relevant for the improvement of biotechnological vaccine production.
