Project overview

Pichia pastoris is a popular host in the industry for production of recombinant proteins ranging from feed additives to pharmaceuticals. Clones exhibit heterogenic production characteristics caused by seemingly random insertion of expression cassettes into untargeted regions of the genome. Production characteristics are correlated with insertion loci on the genome to elucidate possibilities to engineer optimized vectors and strains. These could enable more efficient creation of clones with favorable production capabilities.
