Project overview

The purpose of this project is to explore possibilities for the production of sulfur-containing amino acids in Corynebacterium glutamicum. The analyses include the regulation of gene expression in sulfur metabolism by the global transcriptional repressor McbR. Since McbR is triggered by metabolites of the S-adenosyl-methionine cycle, the cycle will be engineered in order to remove bottlenecks in the synthesis of sulfur-containing amino acids.
