Project overview

The aim of this project is the development and scale-up of gassing crystallization processes. Product quality (PQ), described by crystal size and size distribution, has to be optimized to increase the efficiency of further process steps (filtration, drying, dissolution). The temporary introduction of gas bubbles within the metastable zone influences nucleation and therefore PQ. With detailed knowledge about the influence of gassing parameters (volume flow, duration, initial supersaturation) and process parameters (cooling curve) on PQ, it is possible to formulate heuristics for a reliable scale-up.
