Project overview

Since plasmids have become very important as pharmaceutical gene vectors in the last years, the demand for plasmid DNA (pDNA) prospectively will increase. To meet these requirements, pDNA has to be produced in larger quantities and in a certain quality. Within this project, we want to analyze which factors influence the plasmid replication in an E. coli production strain by modelling and metabolomics. The aim is to understand the regulation of plasmid production and to detect bottle necks in these processes. Modelling of an E. coli plasmid production strain
